Drawer Insert Planner

Drawer interior

Measure inside the drawer box, in inches. Select a safety gap. Then, check the final insert dimensions.

Width side to side Length front to back Height floor to top Safety gap each side

Your insert will be width × length × height. The gap comes off each side of the width and length, and once off the height.

Optional. A few words, printed at the top of your plan, such as what the drawer holds.

$0.00

Divide the drawer to get a cost.

Using the planner

Select any space on the plan and choose how to divide it.
Drag a divider to move it. Dividers snap to a sixteenth of an inch and line up with their neighbours.
To make two sizes equal, select a number inside one space, then a number inside another. They are linked and stay equal while you edit or resize, shown with a padlock. Select a linked number to unlock it.
Select a divider (without dragging) to see its sizes or delete it and merge the two spaces.
Divide a space again to build grids and nested layouts.
Zoom in to design small compartments: use the + and − buttons, Ctrl/⌘ and scroll, or pinch. Drag the plan to move around it; Fit shows the whole drawer again.
Undo and redo with the buttons or Ctrl/⌘+Z. Your plan is kept in this browser.

Measuring tips

Empty the drawer, then measure the inside floor from wall to wall in both directions.
For height, measure up to where the drawer above or the top rail starts.
Check a few spots, use the smallest number, and round down to the nearest 1/8″.
